Last year, I was invited to contribute music to my sister Katherine’s play. The play is entitled, A Quadrimonial, and was produced by the Actor’s Studio in Los Angeles.

The experience was cathartic for both of us, as the material is semi – autobiographical, and also because Katherine , in addition to writing the play, also played the lead role, which is based on our mother. Another character in the play is based on me as a young man, working at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fl, which I actually did.

I chose reharmonized Disney themes as the primary motif. All the pieces had to be short, to cover scene changes and such, which became it’s own challenge.

Those 3 Disney pieces, and the short ballad Ask Me No Questions, point to a new musical direction, which I intend to explore further. in my next project. I decided to include the short versions here, to help set the table for what is ultimately a very eclectic CD. Like a sorbet between courses to cleanse your palete. Bon Apetit!
